Recently over 90 of Australia’s most creative chefs participated in the national launch of the 2008 James Squire Chef’s Match.
In an Australian first, chefs in New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia and Queensland unleashed their culinary talents to create the perfect flavour-filled pairing of great Australian food and James Squire beers.
In Melbourne, gastro pubs that participated included The Local Taphouse, Prahran Hotel, Railway Hotel - South Melbourne, Exchange Hotel, The Nixon Hotel, World Restaurant and Bar, College Lawn Hotel and Provincial Hotel.
Participating restaurants were Stuzzi Café Bar Restaurant, The Grill Room, Matteo's Restaurant, Masani Restaurant and Bar, Tazio Birraria and Pizzeria, Mamacas Mediterranean Kitchen and C’est Bon.
And the winners are….. Masani Restaurant and Bar and Provincial Hotel.
