Electrolux Appetite for Excellence 2013

Electrolux Appetite for Excellence 2013

For the first time since its inauguration the Electrolux Appetite for Excellence 2013 winners were announced tonight in Melbourne.

On August 12, 2013, at an awards celebration held at Hilton on the Park, food industry professionals and food lovers joined in to recognise and celebrate young talent and the future of the industry.

Established in 2005, the awards attract the highest profile members of the food industry each year.

Master of Ceremonies Lyndey Milan paid tribute to the next generation of culinary stars that made up this year’s national finalists as she named the Electrolux Australian Young Chef, Waiter and Restaurateur of 2013, the custodians of Australia’s food future.

Recognised as one of the industry’s most prestigious, the awards were presented by some of the nation’s culinary elite including Lisa van Haandel, Andrew McConnell and Christine Manfield, who were also judges during the program.

The hospitality legends shared their passion for nurturing young talent and providing opportunities to hone skills, find inspiration and grow success right here in our own backyard.

With the aim to inspire and encourage the future heavyweights of the hospitality industry, the Awards focus on retaining culinary talent in Australia, despite the allure of overseas fine dining and Michelin stars.
