Film review: The Miracle Club.

A film I thoroughly enjoyed recently was The Miracle Club.

Set in 1967, it is a heartwarming film that follows the story of three generations of close friends.

Lily (Maggie Smith), Eileen (Kathy Bates) and Dolly (Agnes O'Casey) live in Ballygar, a working class village in Dublin.

They have one tantalising dream: to win a pilgrimage to the sacred French town of Lourdes, a place that promises miracles and draws millions of visitors each year.

Film - The Lost King

The Lost King

If you're looking for a cool escape during our Australian hot spell, why not escape to the cinema and lose yourself in The Lost King, a brilliant movie, starring Sally Hawkins, Steve Coogan and Harry Lloyd?

Based on a true story, The Lost King is about King Richard III and how his remains were lost for over 500 years.

In 2012 the remains of the monarch were discovered beneath a car park in Leicester.

The search had been orchestrated by an amateur historian, Philippa Langley, superbly played by Sally Hawkins.

Christmas 2022

Christmas 2022

Merry Christmas 2022 to all and here are some of my favourite gift ideas.

Instead of buying yet another scented candle or tablecloth for your family and friends, why not think of those less fortunate and organise a hot dinner for a homeless person, donate to charity or support StreetSmart, an organisation that looks after the homeless and needy, helping to provide meals and accommodation to them.

I'm sure your favourite charity will appreciate your efforts and help.
