Movie review: Cloudburst

Cloudburst is a wonderful movie, starring Academy award winners Olympia Dukakis and Brenda Fricker and directed by Thom Fitzgerald.

The movie is a touching romantic comedy that deals with some of life's biggest issues.

Stella and Dot are lovers who have been together for 31 years and looked after each other through life's ups and downs.

Now in their seventies and forced to make a brave decision when Dot's granddaughter Molly intervenes in their lives, the pair hit the road and become outlaws on the run.

It was a great start to the week when the media, foodies and bloggers were invited by Tefal Australia to learn how to cook from its ambassador, award-winning French chef Guillaume Brahimi of Bistro Guillaume at Crown.

Not to mention enjoying a sumptuous early lunch with le chef in the bistro's private dining room, no less!

SALUTING the sun, arching like a dolphin and the shoulder stand pose always leave me relaxed and ravenous,

It is just as well that my yoga session is timed just before lunch which was a good reason to visit The Grain Store in Flinders Lane.

Imagine a rustic, country-style ambience smack bang in the middle of the city and you'll appreciate this fantastic concept.

WE were looking for our regular caffeine fix one afternoon in 2009 when we spotted Marysville Patisserie in Glenferrie Rd, Malvern.

``This looks interesting,'' I thought when we stepped in, only to be greeted by the familiar face of chef and owner Ashraf Doos.

I'd met Ashraf over 25 years ago when he was chef at the Hilton on the Park.

On Friday, June 7, Street Smart Australia has organised CafeSmart 2013 when participating cafes Australia-wide will donate $1 for every coffee they sell.  

There are 191 cafes taking part at last count.

``Coffee aficionados are also encouraged to match their donation with your own $1 and 100% of these funds will then go to fund local projects,'' director Adam Robinson said.
